What a security audit examines
We scope the audit around what you must protect. For an application that usually means authentication, authorization, session handling, input processing, file upload, third-party integrations and sensitive data storage. We read the code manually where risk is highest and use static analysis tools across the rest to cover volume. We also record what was out of scope, so the report is honest about what it did and did not cover, and nobody mistakes a limited review for a clean bill of health.
Infrastructure review looks at cloud accounts, network segmentation, IAM policies, secrets handling, container and Kubernetes settings, backup and recovery arrangements, and logging coverage. Configuration is compared with CIS benchmarks and your own policies, and each gap is tied to a specific risk. Where the system includes mobile apps or third-party plugins, we include their configuration and permissions too, because attackers pick the weakest connected component rather than the one you audited.
