Fit check
Is Technology Consulting right for you?
An honest view. If another model suits you better, we will tell you on the first call.
A good fit when
You face a technology decision with real money behind it
You lack senior technical leadership in-house
You want an independent view of architecture, cost or vendors
You need a plan your board and engineers can both follow
Think twice when
You already have a settled plan and only need hands
You want slide decks without follow-through
The decision has already been made elsewhere
There is no sponsor to act on recommendations
About Technology Consulting
How Technology Consulting works in practice
Technology consulting gives you an independent technical opinion on a system, a plan or an acquisition target. This page describes three common engagements, namely architecture review, technical due diligence and modernization planning, plus what the written output looks like and how consulting by working engineers differs from slide-driven advice, for CTOs, investors and operations leaders.
Architecture review: what we examine
A review answers a specific question: can this system take the next two years of growth, is it secure enough for the customers we want, or why is every release painful? We read code and configuration, trace critical user journeys, inspect data models, look at cloud spend and incident history, and talk with the engineers who maintain it. Interviews matter as much as files, because engineers know where the bodies are buried.
The output is ranked findings, not a generic checklist. Each one states the evidence, the risk to the business, an estimated effort range and a suggested order of work. Typical discoveries include a single database that cannot scale reads, authorization logic scattered across controllers, untested payment paths, and infrastructure that only one person can recreate. Findings are written so a non-technical executive can follow the reasoning and an engineer can act on it.
Technical due diligence for investors and acquirers
Before an investment or acquisition, you want to know what you are buying. Diligence looks at code quality and ownership of intellectual property, open source license exposure, security practices, dependency on key people, scalability, cloud cost structure and the realism of the roadmap. The goal is to size risk and the cost of fixing it, in plain language that finance and legal teams can use.
We stay independent: the report states what we saw and how confident we are, and we flag where we could not verify something. NDAs are standard, and findings are shared only with the parties you name. Because we are working engineers, we can explain whether a problem takes a week or a year to remedy. Where a specialist outside our expertise is needed, such as a legal review of licenses, we say so.
Modernization planning and what comes next
Where a system is aging, a modernization plan compares options: leave it alone, wrap it with APIs, re-host to cloud, refactor in place or replace parts progressively. Each is described with cost, risk, disruption and the capabilities it enables, so leaders can choose with open eyes instead of by default. Each option is priced with ranges and assumptions, because precise numbers at this stage would be invented rather than known.
You can take the report to any team. If you want Speqto to execute, we can move into application modernization or dedicated delivery, and we will say clearly where our recommendation has a commercial interest. AI-assisted code analysis helps us map large codebases faster, though findings are always checked by an engineer before they reach you. Nothing in the report obliges you to engage us for the next stage.
What is included
What you get from the first week
Architecture and code review
Evidence-based assessment of structure, data model, security, performance and maintainability, with ranked findings and effort ranges for every item reported.
Technical due diligence
Independent analysis for investors and acquirers covering code, IP, licenses, security, team dependencies, scalability and cost, summarized for non-technical readers.
Modernization options analysis
Comparison of retain, wrap, re-host, refactor and replace paths with costs, risks, sequencing and the business capability each enables.
Cloud and infrastructure assessment
Review of environments, cost, reliability, backup and access practice, with practical savings and resilience improvements prioritized by effort and impact.
Security posture check
A pragmatic look at authentication, authorization, secrets handling, dependencies and logging, aligned with common practice such as the OWASP guidance.
Delivery process review
Analysis of branching, testing, release and incident habits, with measures like lead time and change failure rate to track improvement.
How it runs
A typical engagement, step by step
Pick a stage to see what happens. Timings are typical, not promises.

Outcomes
What you can expect
Decisions based on evidence
Leaders get findings tied to code, data and interviews, so investment choices rest on facts instead of opinions or vendor claims.
Clearly sized risk
Each finding comes with effort and business impact, making remediation budgets and deal terms easier to negotiate.
A roadmap you can use
The written plan can be executed by your own team, by Speqto or by any other partner you choose, without needing us.
Working rhythm
How you stay in control
Daily stand-up
Short check-in that overlaps with your hours.

FAQ
Technology Consulting FAQs
Straight answers on cost, timelines, IP ownership, team setup and how we work. Cannot find yours? Ask a solutions architect directly.
What is included in a technical due diligence report?
Typically code quality, architecture, security practice, open source licenses, IP ownership, team and key-person dependency, scalability, infrastructure cost and roadmap realism. Each finding has evidence, risk and estimated effort, followed by an executive summary for non-technical decision makers.
How long does an architecture review take?
It depends on system size and access, but a focused review is usually measured in weeks, not months. We agree the questions, the access needed and the reporting format at the beginning so there are no surprises about timing.
Do you need access to our source code?
Usually yes, ideally read-only, along with configuration files and a few conversations with the engineers who maintain the system. For sensitive situations we can work inside your environment, under an NDA, and limit what leaves your network.
Is the advice independent if Speqto also builds software?
We separate the report from any sales conversation, state findings plainly and disclose where a recommendation would lead to work for us. You can take the report to another vendor, and it is written so that someone else can act on it.
