About hiring Dynamics 365 engineers
Everything to know before you hire Dynamics 365 talent
Speqto supplies Dynamics 365 developers who customize Sales, Customer Service and Finance and Operations, build on Power Platform and Dataverse, and integrate with the rest of your Microsoft estate. This page is for CIOs and business application owners who want to hire Dynamics 365 developers and need clear criteria.
Dynamics 365 is a family, not one product. Customer engagement apps such as Sales and Customer Service run on Dataverse, extended with plug-ins in C#, JavaScript on forms, Power Fx, model-driven apps and Power Automate. Finance and Operations, including Supply Chain, uses X++ and a different development model and toolset. Few developers are strong in both, so tell us which side you need.
Dynamics Business Central adds a third path with AL extensions. A responsible partner asks which application you run, what version, and which processes are changing before suggesting profiles. In all cases, the developer should favor configuration and extension over modifying base objects, because Microsoft's release waves arrive regularly and heavy modification makes each wave expensive to absorb. That clarity avoids wasted weeks of onboarding.
Power Platform, Dataverse and integration
Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Pages and Copilot Studio make it possible to build business apps quickly on top of Dataverse. Quick is not the same as sound. Experienced developers set up environment strategy, solutions with managed layers, connection references, data loss prevention policies and ownership rules, so citizen-built apps do not become an ungoverned mess. Governance is set up before the first app is shared.
Integration usually involves Azure services: Logic Apps, Functions, Service Bus and API Management, plus connections to Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Power BI and external ERP or e-commerce systems. Data migration into Dataverse needs mapping, duplicate detection and rehearsal. Where AI is useful, such as summarizing cases or drafting replies with Copilot features, it works best on clean data and clear privacy settings.
Vetting, ALM and engagement
Candidates are assessed on plug-in or X++ exercises, Dataverse modeling, security role design, solution management and a review of existing customization for upgrade risk. Microsoft certifications provide a useful signal, but we prioritize real implementation stories. Profiles reach you in about two business days, and you interview anyone who would join your team. Sandbox environments mirror production as closely as licensing allows.
Good application lifecycle management is non-negotiable: solutions in source control, build pipelines in Azure DevOps or GitHub, separate development, test and production environments, and automated deployments. Engagements can be a single developer, a mixed pod with functional consultant and tester, or a phased delivery team, with weekly demos, full IP assignment, NDAs on request and 30 days notice to scale.

How to hire
Hire Dynamics 365 talent in four steps
A short, low-risk path from your brief to a working engineer. If the first engineer is not right, we replace them.
1
Share your brief
Tell us the role, stack, hours overlap and how long you need the engineer. A 20-minute call is usually enough.
2

In about two business days you receive candidates with assessment notes, code samples and availability.
3
Interview and trial
Speak to the engineers yourself. Start with a short paid trial and continue only if the fit is right.
4

FAQ
Hire Dynamics 365 Developers FAQs
Straight answers on cost, timelines, IP ownership, team setup and how we work. Cannot find yours? Ask a solutions architect directly.
What is the difference between Dynamics 365 CE and Finance and Operations developers?
Customer engagement developers work on Dataverse with C# plug-ins, JavaScript, Power Fx and Power Platform. Finance and Operations developers write X++ in Visual Studio against a different architecture. They are separate skill sets, so we match profiles to your application.
Can Dynamics 365 developers also build Power Apps?
Many can, since model-driven apps are part of the same platform. Check for solution management, security and governance experience, not only app-building speed. Larger Power Platform estates may deserve a dedicated architect alongside the developer.
How do you handle Dynamics 365 customization without breaking updates?
We use configuration first, supported extension points and managed solutions, avoid unsupported changes, and test in sandbox environments against upcoming release waves. Customizations are documented and reviewed so future developers understand what was changed and why.
Can you migrate data from our old CRM into Dynamics 365?
Yes. We map fields, clean and deduplicate records, load in stages with validation reports, and rehearse the final cutover. Business owners sign off sample records so history, ownership and relationships arrive in a usable form.
